Americans should never have to fear their own government. This image utilizes iconography from the modern version of the Minnesota state seal and flag. This reflects the progressive nature of Minnesotans to be mindful our neighbors and strive for a more perfect union. The image references the Snake from the Gadsden flag being decapitated by the Loon. This visual is a protest to the co-opting, by the far right, of the flag’s original purpose. It also references the Mexican flag as a symbol of solidarity with the Latinx community who are among the primary targets of our government. The words DONT TREAD ON ME reference the solidarity Minnesotans feel in their readiness for self-defense of their community.
